Rhinoplasty Cost

In these hard economic times, it may seem a little frivolous to consider rhinoplasty. But not all nose surgery is just for vanity's sake. For some people it means the difference between constant stuffiness and difficulty in breathing, to being able to breath normally. Even when rhinoplasty is done for cosmetic purposes, the boost to a person's self-esteem may well be worth the cost of the procedure. What about cancer patients or accident victims? There must be a way to help them without breaking the bank. Unfortunately, health insurance does not often cover cosmetic surgery, but when there is a medical issue, partial or full coverage may be paid.

Costs vary between surgeons and between different geographic regions. Where does it cost the most? Beverly Hills, right? Wrong. The facility costs are actually much higher in New York resulting in higher prices. Surgical fees are not the only costs. There are fees for the use of the facility, anesthesia, lab work and prescriptions. We all know how that goes. Everything that can be charged for, certainly will be charged for! In researching costs, fees were found to range from $4,000.00 to $15,000.00. Certainly the difficulty of the surgery will play a part in the cost as well as the other things mentioned.

So how are we going to pay for this? Let's take a real life example. An elderly patient paid her medical bill by faithfully delivering a homemade cake every Monday. Sometimes she included some fresh eggs and vegetables from her garden. Can you see that happening in big cities today? While some offices offer a payment plan, many do not. Most places need payment at time of services. Some very smart companies have addressed this need. Care Credit, for example offers a credit card for medical and even veterinary expenses. The doctor is paid in full and you pay them back on a monthly plan. Other companies have jumped on the band wagon and offer very affordable payments and interest rates as low as 5.9% depending on your credit rating. This is certainly preferable to maxing out your credit cards to pay for your new and improved nose.

Even if your credit is not up to par, they may be able to finance you but at a higher interest rate of course. You must ask yourself, just how much having a rhinoplasty is worth to you. Is it worth all the debt? Consider non-surgical rhinoplasty if at all possible as this will be cheaper.

There is little doubt that the cost of rhinoplasty will be a factor in whether or not you decide to do it, but there are options to make it more affordable for most people. Now that you have the information, this is a step forward to making your decision.
